When I decided to illustrate Animal Farm by George Orwell, the one thing I was not going to do was draw pigs. But they’re kinda necessary to the story. So I had to reference them somehow. At least in the most subtle way possible. Doing a literary classic was a real challenge, but one I really enjoyed, especially when I realized I could draw brics. I love illustrating walls and towers, playing with perspective, and finding new ways to bring depth to a scene.
